CHRISTINE GICHURE

Education: Victorian University Manchester, School of Education, through University College, Nairobi (Now UON). She is a MA & PhD holder in Philosophy & Education (Ethics & Philosophy of Education) of University of Navarra (Rome & Pamplona, Spain). Gichure has wide teaching experience, having taught in two outstanding secondary schools in Nairobi—The Kenya High School and Kianda High School; she has a wide university teaching experience from Kenyatta University (1995-2011) and Strathmore University since 2011 to date.

Gichure was awarded a Fulbright Senior Scholar grant to visit and research in Ethics in Leadership at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, of the University of Richmond, in Virginia, USA in 2003-2004; in 2010 she was visiting scholar at the Catholic University of America (CUA), courtesy of CRVP, Washington D.C, USA; was a guest of the State of Jalisco, Mexico, Department of Education, in 2008 invited to explain aspects of ethics in education contained in her book: Ética de la profesion docente (1995) at a workshop for heads of Teacher Education Colleges of that State.  

Gichure is member of the International Society of Business, Economics and Ethics (ISBEE) since 2000; of the Business Ethics Network of Africa (BEN-Africa) since 1999; a Fulbright Alumni of Kenya since 2004; member of Fellowship of Catholic Scholars since 2004; was member of the Association of African Women Researchers and Developers (AAWORD) in 2001; and member of the Alumni of University of Navarre in East Africa.

Gichure doubles up as occasional reviewer for Journal of Business Ethics (JOBE) since 2004; member of the Editorial Board for the African Journal of Business Ethics (AJoBE) since 2008; member of the editorial board of Docencia Universitarial, and education Journal of the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia since 2003. She is also in the editorial board of Caribbean Journal of Philosophy since 2008, one Editor of the Code of Ethics for Bankers for Kenya Institute for Bankers (1998).
