About Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAC)

This program is driven by a need to prepare graduates who can apply the theory and practice of communication truthfully in a public relations or communication for development industry.

Why Study Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAC)

The focus of this degree programme is on developing students with deep knowledge and skills, who can fit into the vast field of communication, riding on Strathmore’s tradition of excellence in scholarship and research. Increasingly, private and public enterprises recognize the need to have professionals who can craft effective messages in various forms, and work on company communication strategies in order for them to actualise their objectives. It is for these reasons that the Communication degree was developed.

The goal of studying BAC

The goal of this program is to produce graduates with theoretically rigorous understanding of communication, and its application in culturally diverse interpersonal and professional contexts, including public relations, advertising, event planning, sales, and in development.

Entry Requirements

KCSE (or equivalent examination) with a minimum aggregate of C+

A Level &IGCSE 6 Bs and above or IB 24 pts 5 in English and 4 in Mathematics

Entrance Examinations

Applicants will be required to attend and pass an appropriate entrance examination which will include an aptitude test in Mathematics and English as well as a personal oral interview.

Applicants should report to the university by 8.00am on the day of the interview and should bring along the following:

3 passport-size photographs
- Original and photocopies of all relevant academic testimonials.
- Copy of National ID / Birth Certificate / Passport
- Student entrance examination fee of Ksh. 2,000
